About the memorial: Hooded wooden calvary cross on a hexagonal stone plinth and base. The figure of Christ is sculpted from teak, and is screwed into an oak Latin cross. The base of the cross is reinforced with copper. Overhead is a separate piece of wood carved with the inscription I.N.R.I. The wooden canopy has a shaped gable to the front and stands on a hexagonal plinth and stepped base. The plinth is made of Yorkshire Stone with a chamfered upper edge. It bears the commemorative inscription. The upper section of the base, of Portland Stone, bears the names of the WWI fallen, carved into the stone. The lower section of the base, also of Portland Stone, is plain. The cross in within the churchyard.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
