About the memorial: A cenotaph on a two-stepped base in a paved area surrounded on three sides by a raised flower bed supported by a stone wall incorporating integral stone seating. The front of the cenotaph has a tablet with the dedication. Above this is a low relief carving of an angel flanked by a soldier and sailor. Above this is a carving of the Kent insignia within a laurel wreath. An upright metal laurel wreath with poppies and ribbons is on the top of the cenotaph. The WW1 names are on tablets placed on the sides and back of the cenotaph. The WW2 names are on small brass plaques on the slope of low wall surrounding the cenotaph, the insignia of each of the navy, army & air force, in that order, is placed before the respective list of names. The plaques on the raised bed are from the original Milton Regis memorial, destroyed in 1987 by a falling tree.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
