About the memorial: The memorial contains an Inscription and a Scout Silver Cross Medal, donated to commemorate thge contribution made by the Scout Group during an Air Raid on the area in 1941. It includes the letter awarding the star and the Silver Star, mounted in a glass case.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

Letter contents:THE BOY SCOUTS ASSOCIATION/ This is to certify that I have awarded to/ 7th Bootle (179th Liverpool, Ash Street Mission)/ Group, the Silver Cross in recognition of the gallant conduct and devotion to duty of its members/ engaged in Civil Defence work during the severe air/ raids from 2nd to 8th May 1941. Date: 25th June 1941 Signed: Chairman, Awards Committee and the Chief Scout. Commemorative Plaque: THIS AWARD WAS DEDICATED/ ON THE 24 APRIL 1949/ TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE/ 7TH BOOTLE BOY SCOUT GROUP/ WHO DIED/ DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR/ 1939 - 1945.
