About the memorial: The St Agnes war memorial is located in the north side of the grounds of the Methodist Church overlooking the entrance from British Road. The memorial is of granite construction and comprises a wheel cross of the Celtic style with the front face of each arm bearing a trefoil knot in relief. The cross rises from a short shaft that surmounts the octagonal moulded cornice of the main round column. Supporting the column is an upright square-plan rectangular plinth with chamfered upper corners that rests on a two-stepped base, the upper edges of which are chamfered flush to the upper piece. The plinth is inscribed on all faces in memory of those killed in World Wars One and Two. The memorial is Grade II listed.
