About the memorial: This memorial stands in the curtilage of St Peter’s Church, and English Heritage Listed Building Grade I, in the village of Peter Tavy. The memorial is in the form of a Latin cross on top of a tapering square shaft. The shaft being mounted on a tapering hexagonal base each face of which has a worked recessed panel that is inscribed. The base rests on a single stepped hexagonal platform that has a worked recessed band around the five exposed faces which is also inscribed, and on which is mounted a small vase in front of each face. The platform is bordered by a grass strip that itself is bounded by a stone curb flush with the ground which mirrors the hexagonal shape of the platform. A stone tablet of isosceles trapezium shape spans the gap between the platform and the curb on one face of the memorial, which is has worked recessed panels that are inscribed. The whole of the memorial is constructed of rough graniteSt Peters is Grade I listed

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
