About the memorial: A stone block cenotaph, affixed to which is a Christian cross, flanked on the left by a bronze figure of a seated serviceman dressing his own wound on his right arm, and on the right by a similar seated figure of a woman holding a child. All mounted on an altat base.The memorial is Listed in its own right and also by virtue of being attached to the Listed Council Building.
