About the memorial: This war memorial consists of a Latin cross of Forest of Dean stone on top of a tapering four sided shaft and plinth on which also stands a bronze soldier holding his rifle in a present arms position. On the plinth is an inscribed marble plaque in memory of the men of Tredegar who were lost in World War I, with a dedicatory inscription being added later in memory of those who died during World War II. There are also three tilted black polished granite plaques at the base of the memorial which were added in 2000, two of which include the names of those lost in both wars. The memorial is located within the grounds of Bedwellty House and Park, Tredegar. It also incorporates a casket containing a roll of honour of those who died, which is located in Bedwellty House.
