Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

Be Thou Faithful Unto Death And/ I Will Give Thee A Crown Of Life.'/ To The Memory Of A Beloved Son/ Thomas Riversdale Colyer-Fergusson V.C./ 2nd Lieut Acting Captain Northamptonshire Regiment/ 3rd And Youngest Son Of/ Thomas Colyer & The Late Beatrice Stanley Colyer-Fergusson/ Of Ightham Mote In This Parish/ Born 18th Febuary 1896, Died 31st July 1917./ He Was Educated At Harrow And When About To Enter Oriel College Oxford/ The Great European War Broke Out. He Joined The Public Schools Battalion/ In 1914. Obtained A Commission In The Northamptonshire Regiment In March/ 1915. He Fell At Bellewarde In The 3rd Battle Of Ypres After A Brilliant/ And Successful Attack In Which He Led His Few Men Against Great Odds/ And Personally Captured Two Machine Guns For Which He Was/ Posthumously Awarded The Victoria Cross. The Official Report/ Of The Action Concludes 'The Conduct Of This Officer Forms An Amazing/ Record Of Dash, Gallantry, And Skill, For Which No Reward Can Be/ Too Great Having Regard To The Importance Of The Position Won.'/ They Shall Not Grow Old, As We That Are Left Grow Old, Age Shall Not Weary Them, Nor The Years Condemn, From The Going Down Of The Sun, And In The Morning/ We Will Remember Them.
