About the memorial: The memorial is on the south wall beside the door and next to the font. Rectangular wooden board in an elaborately carved and decorated frame with a carved inscription. Private John Nathaniel Williams was in the 6th (Hauraki) Coy, Auckland Regiment, New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and died at Gallipoli on the 25 April 1915, aged 35. He had previously been employed by the Waihi Gold Mining Company, but was also the son of Col. Sir Robert Williams, 1st Baronet (Conservative MP for West Dorset, 1895-1922), and Lady Williams, of Bridehead (information from CWGC database).

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
