About the memorial: The memorial is lcoated in the grounds of the Royal Hosipital. The battle was fought between an Anglo-Indian force of 12,000 under Lord Gough and 40,000 Sikhs led by Shir Singh in the 2nd British-Sikh War. The British lost 255 killed and 2,000 wounded in a three hour long battle. The Sikhs were diven from the field of battle but the British later had to withdraw themselves. Tall square obelisk surmounted by crown and gold painted globe. Names are inscribed on the shaft of the obelisk.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
