About the memorial: A memorial stone described by the monumental mason (C Pullin & Son of Leamington Spa) as 'Headpiece in rustic Rubislaw Granite with face fine axed for inscription. Brackets at either side of headpiece to have Celtic cross in low relief ... imperishable raised letters' reads: In loving memory of Gilbert F M Wright killed in action in France May 22nd 1940, aged 34. And his beloved son Nicholas, April 19th 1944, aged 8. And his wife Doreen August 23rd 2003, aged 95, who could not have loved more. The headstone was erected in 1948 by Mrs Doreen Wright to her own design and stands in the Wright family plot. Gilbert F M Wright is buried in Berneville Cemetery, Pas de Calais.
