About the memorial: The war memorial in the village of Donhead St Andrew in western Wiltshire, close to the county border with Dorset, is a wheel cross on a square plinth, standing on a two-stepped octagonal base. Inset slate panels around the plinth record the names of the fallen of World War I. A dedication and names of the fallen of World War II have been added on small plaques around the top steps. In the angles formed between the wheel of the cross and the shaft are small sculptures of angels praying, and the wheel is decorated with foliate carving. The memorial is believed to stand in the cemetery of Donhead St Andrew Parish Church. Further details can be found in the Links section with information on a grant from War Memorials Trust.
