About the memorial: Red Granite Boulder on top of a squared stone base, total height 12 feet, sitting on a square coursed freestone plinth. There is a bronze coloured plaque, very plain, with a flower round the screw head in each corner. The dedication is in sunken Roman lettering. The whole is surrounded by a flagged area by a post and chain fence with a short path to the road. The Garden of Remembrance also contains trees, flower beds and is surrounded by a post and chain fence, with a short path to the road, and an ornamental wrought iron gate with inscription.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
