About the memorial: Situated in the corner of the Dog Inn Car Park, at the junction of the Ixworth Road with The Street.An ornately carved stone wheel cross, upon a slender column, surmounting a pyramidal plinth upon a square base. The names of the 25 WW1 fallen begin on the left face, starting with the Suffolk Regiment, continue on the front face, and and on the right face, ending with other units. The inscription gives the rank, initials, surname and unit details, but without date, although they might be in order of date of death. (Note: these names are also found on the Roll of Honour in St. Andrews Church.) The names of the 5 who fell in WW2 are on the back face, together with one who fell in 1947. The whole sits upon a square, two-tiered base, surrounded by stone bollards connected by chain link.
