About the memorial: The lectern was made by one of the two founder members of the Southport BSA, Mr T Berry.The Bible on it was presented to the church by the branch chairman. An oak lectern with an open front. There are two small brass dedicatory plaques on the top corners of the book rest. The Bible is a large black-bound lectern Bible with a calligraphy inscription on a paper pasted onto the back of the cover. There are four CWGC volumes resting on the book shelf. One lists the War Graves in Burma, and the other three the names on the Rangoon Memorial.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
