About the memorial: The memorial is a stone plinth with the head and shoulders of a soldier wearing a slouch hat. The inscription on a bronze plaque gives the Kohima Epitaph and is dedicated to men from the North East who gave their lives in Burma 1941-45. It was presented by Tyneside and District BSA. The memorial is Locally Listed (ID 49).
