About the memorial: The 3rd Leith Boys' Brigade Memorial Lamp stands in the grounds of Leith St Andrew's Church at the bottom of Easter Road, Edinburgh. It commemorates the former members of the 3rd Leith BB Company who were killed in both the First and Second World Wars. There are 36 young men remembered on the WW1 plaque with a further 12 who lost their lives in WW2. The freestanding cast iron lamp has a square section base with a raised profile border which shows the rolls of honour and dedication inscriptions. At the bottom of the lamp stem there is a relief Boys' Brigade emblem and winding up the stem is an ornate relief garland. Surmounting the post is a curved hexagon lantern head with decorative detailing and clear plastic (originally glass) panels.
