About the memorial: The gravestone to which the memorial has been added is a flat slab. The inscription (as far as is legible) reads;Also Charles Alexandre.......son of the.....who died on active service March 1st 1943 aged 30 years. Private Hopwood is buried at Benghazi War Cemetery, Libya.
