About the memorial: The war memorial consists of a freestanding pedestal with stepped base. Surmounting the pedestal is a carved granite statue of a solider standing at ease with rifle, bonnet and pack. The memorial is located within a walled/fenced enclosure beside the A76 on Main Street, Kirkconnel. Access to the memorial is through a metal gate on the roadside.
