About the memorial: Situated on Bradford Road in close proximity to the village centre and shops and some ¼ miles east of Birkenshaw Fire and Rescue Station. Description – there are four (4) shield type wooden memorials each with four (4) sections listing the names of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Great War 1914 - 1918

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

Description – there are four (4) shield type wooden memorials each with four (4) sections listing the names of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Great War 1914 - 1918 There is also a large wooden memorial detailing those who made the ultimate sacrifice in World War 11 The inscription reads:- Also in grateful memory of those who gave their lives in the World War 1939 – 1945
