At the base there is a bronze panel with inscription, and on each side of the obelisk is placed a bronze panel, bearing the names of the 152 men who went from Radford to serve in His Majesty’s Forces. Against the names of the 17 who had made the great sacrifice a cross is placed.. Concerns about theft and vandalism in 2013 led to elements being taken into storage, but the memorial has now been restored. The memorial was originally sited on Radford Common but moved to its current location in the 1980's.
