About the memorial: Positioned centrally on the front wall of the Methodist Church, a white marble tablet, flanked by two corinthian colums of polished red granite, supporting a straight pediment, adorned centrally with a crest depicting the arms of Cornwall.The commemoration is the the men of this church and Sunday School who gave their lives during WW1. The 28 names are engraved in black, listed alphabtically by surname, preceded by ranks and initials and/or first names. No units are given. (Note: these names are also listed on a brass memorial within the church, which also lists a roll of honour of those who served) (Note: Gunner Tom Broad and Air Mech Alan Hill are buried in the St. Day Road Cemetery, whilst Lieut Wilfred Hill is commemorated on his brother's gravestone)

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
