About the memorial: Simple limestone memorial, plinth engraved with names of war dead. Erected 1916 (sic). Donated (anonymously) to the Parish by JW Ryland. Unveiled by Mrs Ryland in a 'Service of Intercession' on 11/8/1916. This service was repeated throughout the war on or about the anniversary of the start of hostilites in Aug.
