About the memorial: Within the church of St. Pol de Leon, on the left hand side of the nave.A framed and glazed illuminated roll of honour, commemorating 55 men who died in WW1, 28 who died in WW2, one in the Yemen and one in Afghanistan. Each group of names is listed alphabetically, with first names and surnames. (Note: The WW1 names are also listed on a tablet of the church clock tower outside, and both sets of names are listed on memorial boards in the Royal British Legion Club in Mousehole). There is also a modern book detailing all lost in a glass topped wooden case below this memorial. This replaced an earlier disintegrating Roll- see WMO/292887

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

The new Roll of Honour was scribed in 2013 at St Cecilia's Abbey, Ryde, Isle of Wight on a single sheet of calfskin vellum by Sister Elizabeth, who spent time in prayer over each individual name. The vellum was sourced by William Cowley of Newport Pagnell In proud and grateful memory of those of Paul parish/who gave their lives for their country Their name liveth for evermore
