About the memorial: The memorial was initially unveiled on 22nd July 1920, the names of casualties of the Second World War were added at a later date. In 2003 the Cudworth Local History and Heritage Group obtained a grant to renovate the memorial, an additional 41 names were added to the existing list. Granite panels now cover the old names. Recently the name a local man, Captain Driver, killed in Afghanistan was added to the base of the memorial.A book is available, published in connection with the restoration - Clark A. and Hayhoe, J. (2004) 'Lest Cudworth Forgets'.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
