About the memorial: Small Celtic Cross with knot design set on two stepped base. Names include one WW1 death: Captain Osmond Trahairn Deudraeth Williams, DSO, 1st Bn., Welsh Guards (26 February 1883 - 30 September 1915) It is a family memorial, inscribed: SIR A. OSMOND WILLIAMS BART. LORD LIEUT. OF MERIONETH, 1849-1927. AND FRANCES EVELYN, HIS WIFE WHO DIED AUG. 10TH 1926. OSMOND T. D. WILLIAMS, D.S.O. CAPTAIN, WELSH GUARDS, BORN 1883, KILLED ON ACTIVE SERVICE SEPTEMBER 1915. L. TREVOR G. WILLIAMS, 3RD SON OF THE ABOVE, 1885-1930. Captain Osmond Trahairn Deudraeth Williams was the son of Sir Arthur Osmund Williams and Frances Evelyn Greaves. He was married to Gladys Margaret Finch-Hatton, and had two children. He previously served in the South African War (Lieutenant, 19th Hussars). He is buried in Lapugnoy Military Cemetery, Pas-de-Calais, France. His father, Sir Arthur Osmund Williams, 1st Baronet Williams, of Deudraeth (1849-1927), was a Liberal Member of Parliament (1900-10) and Lord Lieutenant of Merionethshire (1909-27). There is also a plaque memorial to Captain Osmond Williams inside Holy Trinity Church, Penrhyndeudraeth.
