Description: CWGC style Cross of Sacrifice
Lettering: Incised
About the memorial: The white Portland Stone cross with a simply elongated bronze sword applied to a slender shaft on a stepped plinth. Made by Messrs Dove & Co of London to a design by Sir Reginald Blomfield and unveiled in November 1921. It is set in gardens surrounded by wrought iron railings with the names of the fallen recorded on plaques set into a wall to the side. Although this looks like a Commonwelath War Graves memorial it is not in their care but is the local memorial for the community
