About the memorial: Standing in a road island at the junction of Old Bury Road and The Street.A large Maltese Cross, with ball decoration in the centre of each arm, and a larger ball in the middle. Standing upon a base of rocks, with smooth front face bearing the general commemoration for WW1. The front face of the column bears the names of 23 men who lost their lives in WW1. On the rear face are listed 4 names of men who died in WW2. The names are listed alphabetically by surname, preceded by a single first name. The memorial is surrounded by six bollards, each bearing a bronze wreath of laurels, joined together by a metal rail.
