About the memorial: The plaques are situated on the north wall inside the church, opposite the entrance. The central plaque list the fallen of WW1 and the left and right hand plaques, the fallen of WW2. In addition there is a small free standing wooden tablet with paper poppies commemorating a Marine who fell in 2009. The IWM Register records WW`1 and WW2 separately but WMO criteria make tis a single meorial by virtue of its placement and the wording being a continuation. WW1 - A stone tablet with a gilded wreath and crown set into the nowy top. The recessed filled lettering is underneath. The tablet has a stone shelf at the base. The sides and top have a dark coloured surround with two vertical gilded flambeaux. WW2 - A pair of stone tablets with a gilded wreath and crown set into the nowy top. The tablets have a carved edge. The lettering is recessed with the date red filled and the names blue filled.
