About the memorial: This memorial consists of two curved, quadrant walls on either side of two wrought iron gates. The wall has four piers, two flanking the gates and two at the extremities of the original wall, each surmounted by stone vases. Additional straight walls, for WW2 names, have been added at each end of the quadrant walls

Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

On pier beside gate: They come transfigured back/ secure from change/in their high-hearted/ways/beautiful evermore and with the ray of morn/on their white shields of expectation.Along top of Quadrant Wall: In proud and grateful memory of the men and women of this/(Gates)/borough who laid down their lives in the Great Wars 1914-18 1939-45. Dates are repeated on the end piers and the additional walls indicating WW1 or WW2

On the Quadrant Walls, WW2 names are on the Upper, narrower sections. WW1 names are on the Lower, wider sections. Only WW2 names appear on the additional walls.
