Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.
If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.
The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

This ensures others are aware that an enquiry has been made and can read the response to avoid duplicate enquiries. His father Ben was granted a war gratuity on the 8th July 1919. At rest in Le Cateau Communal Cemetery, France. O'GRADY T PAGE H SKIRROW Arthur. Lieutenant, 13th York and Lancaster Regiment died 28th March 1918 aged 28. Son of William and Emily Skirrow, of Leeds; husband of Nellie Dora Skirrow, of 34, St. Michaels Lane, Headingley, Leeds. At rest in Bienvillers Military Cemetery, France. SMITH H TODD C TOWNSLEY A WARR George Harrington Gerald. Private 407040, 7th Casualty Clearing Station, Royal Army Medical Corps died of Lobar Pneumonia at No 30 Casualty Clearing Station, France on the 7th November 1918 aged 23. Son of George Moss Warr and Mary Ann Beaumont Warr, of 22, Bond Road, Barnsley, Yorkshire, native of Andover, Hampshire. At rest in Ligny-St. Flochel British Cemetery, Averdoingt, France. WHITAKER S WILKINSON A WOOD Benjamin Frederick. Private 15/1011, 15th West Yorkshire Regiment died 1st July 1916 aged 21. Son of Benjamin and Sarah Ann Wood, of 12, Beckett Street, Burmantofts, Leeds. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
