About the memorial: A Doric temple located in the Ayscoughfee Gardens. In front is a stone of remembrance with dedication. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and built by Hodson Ltd. Unveiled 8th June 1922. Only WW1 names are engraved on the memorial. WW2 is commemorated by WW2 year dates (with WW1 year dates) on the front face of the Stone of Remembrance.
