About the memorial: The memorial forms the entrance gates to the park, off Green Lane.The wrought iron gates are named as 'CORWEN WAR MEMORIAL'. The iron column gate posts each have a fixed bronze plaque, listing in total 49 names of the fallen from WW1, listed by rank, and then by unit and alphabetically within ranks. Rank, first name, another other initials, surname and unit are given. The double gates each has a fixed bronze plaque, listing in total 13 names of those who fell in WW2. These are listed in alphabetical order, giving rank, first names, surname and unit. On the left hand gate there is an additional plaque to one casualty in Northern Ireland. On the far right hand side gate is one additional name only, with no other identifying details, as to unit or conflict.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
