About the memorial: Standing within a walled, and metal fenced and gated enclosure, adjacent to the entrance of the redundant parish church, near the road junction in the centre of the village.A stone column, upon a four-tiered rectangular base, the top engraved with the Prince of Wales feathers, beneath which is an angular inset panel commemorating the names of 10 men who died in WW1, below which are the names of 2 men who fell in WW2. At the bottom of the memorial is another inscription, largely obliterated. All the names give forenames followed by surname, below which is the place of residence and month and year of death, the WW2 names also listing day of death.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
