About the memorial: Comprises a peal of bells (which is not visible) and two plaques of brass on the North wall of the church. The 1914-1918 plaque is housed in a coloured marble frame of a sinuous shape which is carved with a wreath of laurel leaves. The brass plaque has a combination of raised lettering with borders of oak leaved amd at the top a plain cross berween the arms of the UnitedKingdom and the Arms of England, To the right hand side is engraved a figure of an angel blowing a trumpet. There are 3 columns of rank and names which are inscribed into the brass. Below is the 1939 - 1945 plaque which is a plain rectangle simply inscribed with 2 lines as a border and again the rank and names in 3 columns.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

For the honour of God and in thankful memory of the victorious efforts of Britain and her allies in the cause of liberty and right and of all in this parish who served their country especially those recorded below who sealed their love by death in the Great War AD 1914-1918. The peal bells was completed, the chimes and this record were placed in this House of God. (names) "Their name liveth for evermore." "Who dies if England lives." "More than conquerors through him that loved us" (on separate plaque beneath) Also in Memory of those who gave their lives in the Second World War AD 1939 - 1945 (names)
