About the memorial: Situated – Lingards Sunday School was originally used for worship down School Lane which is off Manchester Road between Slaithwaite and Marsden villages some seven (7) miles from Huddersfield. It is no longer used as a place of worship and has now been converted into private dwellings in the form of flats. There is a large stone built into the side of the flats with an inscription which reads:- Lingards Wood Bottom Sunday School Raised by subscriptions 1863

Description – To visit Helme Hall The period commemorated is 1914 – 1918 and 1939 - 1945 A small brass plaque on wooden surround at base 1939 – 1945 Frank Holroyd Livesey NB. This framed memorial – approximately 25” x 20” was acquired by Mr. H. Widdup of Helme Hall, Helme, when items related to Lingards Bottom Sunday School were auctioned earlier this year.1988?????
