Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.
If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.
The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

The inscription for World War 1 reads:- In Memory of the Men connected with this Church who fell in the Great War 1914 - 1918 The inscription for World War 11 reads:- 1939 – 1945 To the honoured memory of the men connected with this Church who gave their lives for humanity in the World War “Their name liveth for evermore”

Brook Alec Kaye John Walker Their is also a War Grave at the rear of the Church on the lower level of the grounds in memory of Buried elsewhere In this Churchyard 212076 Corporal T. C. Taylor Royal Air Force 29th November 1918 Age 26 There are also two War Graves in an extension to the Methodist Chapel which is approximately ½ mile away on the outskirts of the village on Calmlands Road which is off Huddersfield Road and opposite Meltham C E (C) School. The first cemetery at the top of Calmlands Road is an extension to the Parish Church and the second one is the Methodist Church where the two War Graves can be found with the following inscriptions which read:- 1589230 Gunner 202616 Private L. T. Hellewell T. Whitwam 43rd Searchlight Regt. R. A. Kings Own Yorkshire L. I. 5th Battalion 10th December 1918 The Duke of Wellington’s Regt. 13th September 1944 Age 30 ***************** A further memorial below reads:- In Memory of a Dear husband a Dad John Hellewell Died Sept 13th 1944 Aged 30 years
