Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.
If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.
The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

This ensures others are aware that an enquiry has been made and can read the response to avoid duplicate enquiries. Foot ofcross: 1914 - 1919/ IN GRATEFUL REMEMBRANCE/ OF THE MEN/ OF THIS PARISH WHO MADE/ THE S UPREME SACRIFICE IN/ THEGREAT WAR. 6o'clock face: : "The men were very good unto us, and we were not hurt,/ They were a wall unto us both night and day."(Names) 9o'clock face: EUROPEAN WAR/ 1939 - 45/ (Names) 3o'clock face: (Names) The Roebuck Family grave is situated to the right of the Church on the right hand side wall when facing the front of the Church. The marble headstone reads as follows:- In Loving Memory of LILY, daughter of Joseph H. & Rachel Roebuck Late of Wood Nook Born Jan27th 1883 Died Jan 30th 1913 Also BENJAMIN their son who (whilst in Australia volunteered for active service) was killed in action in France August 12th 1916 Aged 37 years Also a dear sister ALICE ROEBUCK Died Mar 18th 1950 Aged 60 years At Rest The Bray Family grave is situated to the rear of the Church on the right hand side of the central path at the bottom end of the burial grounds The headstone reads as follows:- In Loving Memory of MARY ELLEN BRAY of Netherthong Died Feb 19th 1933 Aged 31years Also Pte Walter Bray 2/5thD.W.W.R.R (Duke of Wellingtons West Riding Regiment) Killed in action March 27th 1918 Aged 33 years Was interred at Pommiers Cemetery, France. Also ARTHUR BRAY who died Feb 25th 1937 Aged 40 years.
