About the memorial: A pair of wooden surround painted and stained glass windows, each measuring 18" x 36", with 4 small windows to accompany them. They were removed from the Folly Methodist Chapel in Wheathampstead Herts AL4 8HQ when it was sold for redevelopment in 2006. They were sold on to a scrap yard and then advertised on Ebay. They were bought by somone anxious to preserve the memory of the men commemorated, who donated them to The Museum Of St Albans for safe keeping. The museum in Hatfield Road closed in 2015, and reopened as St Albans Museum + Gallery in the Old Town Hall in 2018.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
