About the memorial: The memorial commemorates the people of Denbigh and the surrounding area. It was created by sculptor Charles Leonard Hartwell and unveiled in 1923. The memorial consists of a pedestal on which stands a life size bronze figure known as Winged Peace - it holds the wreath of Glory in its right hand.
