About the memorial: A very handsome marble tablet in memory of the fallen in the 1914 - 1918 war is on the north wall with 41 names engraved, all residents of Jarvis Brook. This was erected in 1920.A smaller tablet was placed under the 1914 - 1918 monument in memory of those who lost their lives in the 1939 - 1945 war and was dedicated on July 29th 1951. The 1939 - 1945 plaque also has the names of four civilians, a mother and her 2 1/2 year old daughter who were victims of a German bomb which fell on their home, and a man and a 14 year old boy who died in a separate raid while working in a local orchid nursery.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
