About the memorial: Directly in front of you high up on the wall as you enter the club. A brass coloured plaque on a wooden backboard it originates from WW1 and depicts a soldier of the time in cap and greatcoat carrying a rifle facing a draped figure carrying a wreath. Between the two is a decoratively bordered panel bearing the names for WW1 and WW2. Names for the Falklands and Afghanistan have been added below the figures.
