About the memorial: A memorial by Sir Edwin Lutyens. A free standing obelisk built on the cliff top over looking the River Thames estuary. Well maintained. A memorial to the people of Southend on Sea who lost their lives in both wars. Over 1338 men have their names displayed on tablet place in the refectory at Prittlewell Priory part of Central Museum Southend.
