About the memorial: Urn with drapes surmounting an obelisk, plinth and steps. There is a latin cross on the front face of the obelisk with the dedication and WW2 names on the 6o'clock face and WW1 names on 12o'clock. The lettering is in black. From The Scotsman 8 July 1921-WAR MEMORIALS- MINNIGAFF.— The Minnigaff war memorial was unveiled by the Countess of Galloway in presence of a large gathering. A service was conducted by the Rev. L. E. McVicker, minister of the parish, and the Rev. W. H. Bram Douglas, Trinity U. F. Church. Major A. C. Armitage, of Kerronglitrie, chairman of the Memorial Committee, presided. The memorial, which takes the form of an obelisk, is the work of Mr R. W. Mackenzie, sculptor, Newton-Stewart, and was designed by Dr Ross, architect, Edinburgh. Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
