About the memorial: White marble tablet with black marble surround. Central inscription panel flanked by two figures, a soldier in uniform in relaxed pose and an angel. At the top of the panel is a lion couchant and below a shield and motto.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

Sacred to the memory of George Henry Duckworth late Lieutenant Colonel of the 48th Regt. of Foot, who fell at the battle of Albuera on the 16th May 1811, at the head of the First Battalion while encouraging his men to charge the enemy. He had not completed the 29th year of his age. On the field where he nobly fell his remains lie buried.
