About the memorial: Hand embroidered Roll of Honour in a glazed wooden frame, on the South wall. Handwritten Roll of Honour. At the top the date years of 1939 and 1940 are in green wreaths surmounted by red crowns. Certain letters in the dedication sentence are in red, all other lettering is black (the red letters are indicated in Paragraph 3- Inscription. The names are in 3 scrolls. The 2 side scrolls each have one column, the central scroll has two columns. In the bottom of each scroll there is a female name (in green). In as far as I can ascertain these are the names of the women who inscribed each scroll, not of those who are serving. They are not, therefore, included in the number count or the names list. For completeness they are: Left Hand Scroll: Mrs Mary Harris W.A.T.S. Central Scroll: Mrs M. Elkington W.A.T.S. Right Hand Scroll; Isabella Short W.A.T.S.
