About the memorial: Within the church, high on the front right hand (east) wall of the nave.A white marble plaque, upon a larger greay marble plaque, commemorating the loss of three brothers. Donald Griffin Smith of the Royal Fusiliers, who died in France on 18 October, 1916; Clifford Day Smith, Lieut. 5th Bn Norfolk Regt, who died in France on 23 October, 1918; and Alan Raymond Noel Smith, 130th Baluchis (Jacob's Rifles), who died in INdia on 10 July, 1919.

Buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, France) CLIFFORD DAY SMITH (Lieutenant, 5th (Territorial) Bn Norfolk Regiment, attached 9th Bn. Killed in action 23 October, 1918. Buried in Highland Cemetery, Le Cateau, France.) ALAN RAYMOND NOEL SMITH (Lieutenant, 130th King George's Own Baluchis (Jacob's Rifles). Died in India 10 July, 1919. Buried in Rawalpindi Cemetery, India.) (Note: All three brothers are also commemorated on the adjacent WW1 memorial within the church; on the town war memorial in the Market Square; and on the family's gravestone in Swaffham Cemetery. They were the sons of Walter and Eleanor Smith, of 'Oakleigh', Swaffham, Norfolk.)
