About the memorial: This is now missing. It was originally in the “Parish Almanac” It is included here because it is quite remarkable that in such a tiny village in a sparsely populated valley there are or were 3 memorials (the others being WMO/170235 and 170237), each with different names, and none of which actually gives a definitive listing of the dead, as there is one name from the valley who is missing off all the memorials-John Wilfrid Huggonson (he is commemorated on various memorials at Kirkby Lonsdale and Leck). This is where CWGC places him, but we know of his connections to Nether Wasdale from the Whitehaven News dated 24 June 1915 page 4, column g
