About the memorial: Simple wooden board with flat pediment and incised lettering. Originally this memorial was in Stainburn School. It was moved to the Helena Thompson Museum when the school closed many years ago. I have lived in the area since 1974 and cannot remember the school being open. Before that it MAY have been in the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in Stainburn. Presently no-one alive seems to know when the Chapel closed, and there are no surviving records from the Chapel. It was then moved to St Michael's in 2011. Note that due to health and safety reasons this memorial is not normally accessible, even by prior appointment. It is in the ground floor to first floor south west stairwell.
