About the memorial: On the north wall below the 3rd window from the entrance. Plaque shared with his father. Brass Plaque with lettering etched in a mixture of black and red, in a wooden frame. He has a large number of other commemorations- only one of which is a memorial by definition, but are worth recording: 1. Hole 16 of the Jubilee Golf Course at St Andrews 2. The Freddie Tait memorial medal played for annually at St Andrew's Jubilee Golf Club 3. Freddie Tait Street, St Andrews 4. The Freddie Tait ward at St Andrew's Memorial Hospital ; IN SOUTH AFRICA- 5. At the Kimberley Golf Club- a. The Freddie Tait Putter Competition b. The Freddie Tait Museum (opened in the year 2000) c. The Freddie Tait golf week was held in 2000-then centenary of his death 6. The Freddie Tait Cup given to the leading amateur in the South African Open Championships, every year since 1928. He is also named on the Black Watch Boer War Memorials in Edinburgh and Perth.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
